Guess Who's Black?

Jhett and Ayana in Vegas.

Ayana and Grandpa at work before heading to our flight to Vegas.

Me and Pat after 16 years.

Last dinner with Grandma and the Lius.

Ayana after a night with my moms while Jeanne and I went out.

Me and Brian.

Right?

Punchbowl look out.

Grandpa Ohira's dug up headstone. We just missed the Obamas. Didn't get a chance to take pictures of the "Obama Ships" out in Kailua at their vacation home.

Gau Gee for New Years.

Our traditional New Year's bowl of Saimin.

Making the New Year's dumplings.

Ayana digging into Kalbi Beef short ribs.

Back home with a lot to write about but not now. Great trip with a lot of insight and stuff. I learned and appreciated a lot and it was great to see family and friends and friends starting families (sp?).

Good time in Vegas as well. Of course I gained weight due to less exercise even though I tried to stay active and tons of food. Looking for a restaurant to buy between Midtown and the Old Market to open a restaurant here in Omaha which will be the non-sushi part of Chad's ones in Vegas. Hopefully soon. Getting stuff together so when we do, we'll get it rolling quickly and right, which means another Vegas trip for training and stuff. Looking forward to that.

School started and feels good to be on my bike again. Free papers including the NY Times, 10 minute commute with heavy-as-fuck books...Need to look at the lockers in the gym and see if I can just rent one. I can't carry all this shit biking.

I realized one important thing on the trip to Hawaii. I put going to Zippy's on the list of things to do. I'm not sure why. The chili isn't that good and everything else on their menu sucks. Their saimin was one of the things I was looking forward to but there are so many ramen shops so fuck them. I'm not sure why they're so legion there...may have something to do with the fact that the radio stations never progressed after '94...except KSSK which all the offices and adults to retirees listen to. They were the only stations with newer hits.
