No Train. No Life!

Bob Kerrey is kicking Fischer's ass in this debate. Dumb-asses who just like to hear nice things and regurgitated slogans and impractical ideologies and basically no-substance from a person who seems as if they're reading poorly from a script, Fischer's fucking kicking ass.

I don't understand how Republicans keep talking about small businesses thriving, repealing Obamacare, but make health care affordable and people get higher paying jobs. All the jobs I've had which were mostly small businesses started me higher than minimum wage. Most corporate jobs and franchises start at minimum wage. Most small businesses struggle because they don't have the safety and financial nets places like Wal-Mart get. The ones that like to provide health care for their employees can't afford to; they can barely afford their own.

In Food Science class today, the professor was talking about enzymes and was leading up to beans and the enzymes needed to break them down to prevent the bacteria from eating them and gassing you up. So he brought up "Blazing Saddles." He was getting to the scene around the fire where they're eating beans and farting, but before he played it he asked who had seen the movie. So the people who had raised their hands. Then he asked what we remembered about the movie.

The first thing I remembered I blurted out, "The black sheriff." Nothing. Tumbleweeds. I thought it was hilarious.

I like glancing up every once in a while, as I type, so as to make them feel insecure with my typing. Right now Leguizamo is sweeping by me trying to make glances as to what I'm typing. Don't know what's the problem. It's not as if they're of any significance and I'm a foodie-blogger or something. Even if I were, why would I be blogging about here?

Sad to say that, though $8 is not easy to come by, I am eating at BK. What's even sadder is watching a tween John Leguizamo try so hard to handle six customers. What's even more sad is the seemingly late 20's dude trying so hard to make his management job seem so important.

He's got black-framed glasses, though, so he's hip, right?

L'chaim (sp)

So there's talk about legislating a circumsicion practice with Orthodox Jews in which the mohel (circumsizer), after performing the circumcision, places "his mouth on the infant's penis to pull blood away from the wound in an ancient part of the circumcision ritual, known in Hebrew as metzitzah b'peh."

The problem is that there's a bad or no screening process so there has been cases of transmitting herpes and other pathogens. A couple of babies had died because of getting herpes.

Looks as if the Catholic priest chose the wrong religion.

I haven't had the time to watch the DNC but had only read about it. I had a chance today to watch it and, damn, Bill Clinton's speech was great. Aside from the Daily Show and Real Time with Bill Maher, he brought out what is (in my view) the media's responsibility to call out the Republican Party's blatant lies, explain what really goes on, and the fact that they did, in fact, said they were running a campaign in which they would not let the fact checkers dictate.

Also I didn't realize (because its never mentioned) that along with Obama's student loan plans, was a repayment based proportionally on your salary - which makes sense. It also, as Clinton said, allows people who want to have a modest paying job or one like a much-needed doctor in a small, very rural area to not go there because they couldn't afford to make a living and pay back their student loans.

He could've brought up the voucher system Ryan wants to implement, which does nothing to make health care accessible or affordable, leaving you to pay what the vouchers don't. At least Obama did.

How the hell does anyone with a brain not see how flimsy Romney is? Part of what makes the Republican party strong is their steadfastness in anything, no matter how fucking stupid it may be.

This guy just goes where ever to say whatever to any demographic to satisfy them. It's like Arnold in the fucking re-call election. Now Romney's backing parts of Obamacare because of the impact of the DNC and his attempt to attract the undecided. Anyone who uses this to make their decision needs to get punched in the GD face and not allowed to vote anymore. I'd like to think that the undecided would use this attempt of his to just give up on him. Fuck this asshole!

It sucks that people do go for these things. Watch any show or article with Republicans, they back up their party no matter what; no matter how inane they may come off. The most recent was on "Real Time with Bill Maher" and the former Bush dude (I forget his name) in a final attempt to still yet grasp on to anything to back his party up said that "they need to fact check the fact checkers."

Go die!

Visiting Dawn in Kansas City and actually spending a day here as opposed to just being at the Greyhound station (briefly checking out the downtown and Power & Lights district), truck stops, truck terminals, or just going to a concert - and we found good BBQ. Not the one I wanted to find, but did the job. The one I wanted is part of a gas station.

Today, we went to Waffle House for mediocre greasy spoon stuff with mediocre coffee in a nice mug. We then worked our way to the, apparently, thrift store district which not only let us find two other BBQ places, but some treasures as well - one being the Hulk Hands (photo is for Jeff).

The also had a tape collection which was much close to mine from ninth grade, but included this FEAR album which I needed to get. The downside is the album, of course, looks like a white-power band (which they're not - sort of like that Reagan Youth cover) and a black lady rung it up.

The last stop on the way back to the hotel was the 7-11 which is always a stop for me. I wanted a small coffee but the choices were between the smaller Romney one or the bigger Obama one, so guess which one I went for. Do these profits go to their campaigns?

Gonna do some calculus and read. Two observations in Kansas City is a) people refuse to use turn signals even, and maybe especially, when on a 55 mph highway and then making a right turn and b) when you make a specification on a food order, you may just as well not have made the request.

Matt told me Robert may join our swim team in a few weeks. That'd be nice to hang out with him since I don't get to much anymore. Matt also told me about those hand-paddle things which give you a super-good upper-body workout and forces you to do the form correctly. I've cut my swim time in half. Not like I'm swimming fast, but I'm cutting the breaks in between the laps. I'm slowly but surely getting the butterfly together. I can do the stroke and dolphin kicks individually, but I'm having trouble doing them together. I can do it if I focus but then I don't breathe and when I do breathe I throw off the fluidity of it. I think I'll perfect it in a week since I'm now going everyday.

Classes would be better if I'm not spending half the study time learning the software for each class. Software should be easy to learn, but when you're learning a new subject while learning, you're learning the software is dependent on your understanding the subject. Then in the class which should be easier, my JavaScript (since I took this same one 10 years ago), I'm relearning the language (which is coming back), but coding them in Unix. So I'm relearning a language in a new operating system. I wish I could just take an English class.
